A.J. Longo & Associates, founded in 1970 by Anthony J. (Tony) Longo, is one of the largest family owned commercial insurance agencies in southern California and has been servicing the needs of various businesses since that time. Our office moved to Pasadena in 1990 and that is our current home office. You will receive the highest level of customer service possible from our team who is totally focused on your needs. Because we service niche businesses that are compatible with our specializations we are able to focus on one client at a time verses a broad volume approach.
Our approach to handling your insurance needs is through a comprehensive team approach. We establish a relationship by using a team of professionals all skilled in slightly different capacities to create an insurance portfolio and service it consistently. We are in constant contact dealing with coverage issues and providing solutions for your insurance needs.
Risk Management is a key component of our support system. We will deploy the necessary professionals to analyse and manage safety, evaluate property values, perform loss control, conduct human resources processes and practices evaluations and provide necessary training in these areas.
We are large enough to be directly appointed with most of our carriers and small enough to be nimble and easy to work with from a customer perspective.
Although A. J. Longo & Associates focus is on commercial insurance we also provide Personal Insurance products with excellent capabilities.

Blake has a long record of outstanding achievement as an insurance expert. After graduating from UCLA he began his way from Claims Examiner to Commercial Underwriter. As an independent agent since 1987, he has been a leading producer for a number of insurance companies including Employers Compensation, Golden Eagle, Travelers and the Hartford. National publications and industry associations often seek Blake’s viewpoint and wisdom because of his tremendous expertise and reputation. Blake holds the Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designation. He is a past President of the La Canada Sports (Spartan Basketball) Association. He is a past President of the Burbank, Glendale, and Pasadena Insurance Brokers Association. Blake has served on the Board of Directors of the La Canada Educational Foundation.
He is the Head Basketball Coach for the Pasadena Special Olympics. Blake serves on the Pasadena Boys & Girls Club Board. He is currently serving on the Board of Directors for the Pasadena Chamber of Commerce. Blake is a Vice President of the Valley Club of Pasadena. He also serves as the Treasurer of the Burbank, Glendale, and Pasadena Insurance Brokers Association Board of Directors. Blake’s charter as President of A. J. Longo & Associate’s is to form long-term relationships with companies who are the best in their industry.
Blake lives in La Canada with his wife and three children.
Carolyn has been a producer with our agency since 2005, running our Orange County operations. She began her career in insurance while still in High School working for a company that taught insurance rating and continued to work for them as a rater while she attended college. She usually does not say when that was but we understand that it was in the 70’s. In 1988 she went from working behind the scenes to become a producer selling Life and Health Insurance. In the mid 90’s she went back to her roots and became a Property and Casualty producer.
In 1993 she became the President of the Foothill Life Underwriters Association. In her spare time she volunteers for the Pasadena Playhouse District and was past Chair of their Art Walk, the Irwindale Chamber of Commerce, including their Business Ambassador Committee and Golf Committee and with the Ocean Institute in Dana Point. She has also been a member of the Tournament of Roses since 1997.
She also enjoys water sports, camping, tennis and a quiet stroll on the beach
John has almost 15 years of financial services experience. Going from finance to lending he has made insurance and financial services his career. All 15 years have been spent servicing clients and it is what he takes pride in. At Wachovia Securities, he was top producer in the training program from 1998-2000 and a chairman’s award winner in 1999 and 2000. While at Indymac Bank, John was a Gold Club award winner in 2005 and 2006 and was awarded the Mentor of the Year award in 2006. He currently provides insurance services in most all areas ranging from commercial package (Commercial Property, General Liability, Automobile, Umbrella), Professional Liability, Employment Practices Liability, Workers’ Compensation and Employee Benefits.
When he is not doing his best to fulfill his clients’ needs John enjoys all types of sports including golf, tennis, softball and triathlon. He lives in Pasadena and is involved with the Pasadena Tournament of Roses Association and the Pasadena Chamber of Commerce.
